Sports 5758 - The future of Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal has been decided. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger sure, Sanchez will not be sold even if the contract runs out.
Sanchez's stay in North London will end in the summer of next year. Failure to qualify for the Champions League Arsenal raises further doubts about the Chilean soccer star to survive, amid rumors linking him with Manchester City and Paris St. Germain.
If Sanchez did not want to extend his contract in the 2017-18 season, then Arsenal will lose him for free. However, it seems the Gunners are ready with that risk.
"The decision has been made and we remain with the decision," said Wenger, who was quoted by Sky Sports. "The decision is not to sell (Sanchez)."
Last weekend, back home to Chile Sanchez expressed his desire to play in the Champions League. "I want to play in the Champions League, the decision is not in my hands, I need to wait for Arsenal," said 28-year-old footballer.
"I've made the decision, now just waiting for the answer to Arsenal. The idea is to play and win the Champions League. Sayasudah dreamed since childhood. Now I am at Arsenal and will finish my contract for another year," said Sanchez.
Wenger refused to respond to his players' comments too far. "I do not want to think about the things that are translated, what I know, he does not mean that.
"For us, the main focus is the Premier League and the Premier League to me is more important than the Champions League. Sometimes we rested several players in the Champions League group stage for the Champions League game so the competition is very important for us," said Wenger.
"The rest, we've been playing in the Champions League for 20 years, 17 years before joining Sanchez and three years when there he is. So he could restore us to get there," he added.
